It might not be official, but apparently, News Corp. has acquired Beliefnet.com, the NYC-based multi-faith community site which was launched in December 1999. Apparently, the site boasts over 3.1 million unique visitors a month and has been profitable since October 2002. It previously had raised $7 million from Softbank Capital in 2005.
Hi-Media Group today acquired of Fotolog.com. Hi-Media is a diversified European pure play Internet company that includes advertising, and micro-payment services. Fotolog was launched in May 2002, added 3 million members in August 2007, and passed 13 million members.
